Filtering results

Monday 6 February 2023 - by SoccerSTATS.com

Sometimes certain match scenarios can seem quite odd like a team losing a match after leading 2-0 at half-time. Then the question is "How unusual was that, actually?".

Results filter allow to answer those types of questions, by displaying a list of played matches that fit certain criteria.

For example you can define a result filter to view:

all matches of the current season where the home team did not score in the first half yet won the match

- or all matches where the away team scored more than 2 goals

The above examples are league-level result filters. You can also filter results at the team level, for example to view:

- all matches where a specific team conceded the first goal yet ended up winning the game

- or all matches where a specific team was leading at half time and scored a minimum of 2 goals in the match

Once the filter criteria are defined, click Search to display the corresponding matches and a statistical summary based on those matches only.

The match list generated by the result filter will show you how many matches (and which ones) have met the defined criteria, and the statistics below the list will show the type of outcomes that came out of those criteria.

For example, you can define a filter listing the matches where the visiting team has scored a minimum of 1 goal, and the statistics below will indicate the percentage of those matches that ended up being won by the local team. Or you could also choose to view, out of all the matches where the score was 0-0 at half-time, how many ended up in a draw.
