Leeds United turned the lights on at Elland Road with a commanding performance that gets them very close to a guaranteed their Premier League survival.
The hosts stepped onto the pitch looking to solidify their status in the middle of the pack and stretch their impressive undefeated streak.
Burnley, meanwhile, arrived with the heavy weight of a four-match losing run, desperate to find their first clean sheet on the road and claw back some pride in this end of season.
The deadlock didn't last long, as Anton Stach gave the home fans something to cheer about in just the eighth minute. After being picked out by Jaka Bijol, Stach let fly from distance with a shot that fizzed across the turf and nestled into the bottom right corner (1-0).
The lead was doubled early in the second period when Jayden Bogle whipped a delivery in from the right; Noah Okafor read it perfectly, surging at the far post to strike a volley into the opposite corner (2-0).
Burnleys afternoon went from bad to worse only four minutes later. Ao Tanakas initial effort proved too hot for the goalkeeper to handle, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the sharpest man in the box to slot the rebound home from close range (3-0).
The visitors did manage a consolation in the 71st minute when Jaidon Anthony threaded a through ball for Loum Tchaouna. His run into the right side of the box ended with a shot that found the opposite corner (3-1).
Leeds United have now extended their unbeaten run to 6 matches, providing a massive boost to their hopes of a stress-free end to the season.
The result leaves them 14th in the table and, crucially, 9 points above the relegation zone with their Premier League status appearing almost secure.
After a goal-shy period earlier in the campaign, they have found their flair again, netting 10 times in their last four outings. They will travel to Tottenham next with high confidence, looking to maintain this attacking momentum.
For Burnley, the crisis deepens as they suffer a 5-match losing run, leaving them rooted near the foot of the table.
This latest defeat highlights their ongoing defensive fragility, as they have now conceded 71 goals this season, the highest in the division. It was also their 18th consecutive away match without a clean sheet, a stat that continues to undermine their efforts to stay competitive.
Sitting 19th and struggling at both ends of the pitch, they will be looking to shore up their defence before welcoming Aston Villa in their next fixture.
2nd consecutive home win for Leeds Utd. 5th consecutive defeat for Burnley. 4th consecutive away defeat for Burnley. 4th consecutive game where Leeds Utd scored. 2nd consecutive home game where Leeds Utd scored. 5th consecutive game where Burnley conceded. 18th consecutive away game where Burnley conceded. 3rd consecutive away game where Burnley scored. 2nd consecutive game where Leeds Utd conceded.
To calculate the above duration values based on a total of 90 minutes, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are considered scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are considered scored on the 90th minute.

Domination Index calculation method

The Domination Index calculation is based on the average of the following percentages:
- Possession percentage - Percentage of match corners awarded to each team - Percentage of time each team has been in the lead
The calculation used is: AVERAGE OF (% Possession x 4, % Corners and % Lead duration x 2)
'Domination' in football can be perceived in different ways. The goal of the Domination Index, as calculated here, is not about trying to determine things like 'who should have won' or which team has been simply attacking the most.
Sometimes a team has easily scored once or twice in the beginning of the game and then opts for a more reactive stance, with a focus on hindering the opponent's game. At the end of the match, the opponent might have had more possession, and even more shots, but that does not necessarily mean they have dominated the other team.
Considering possession as only one of the factors, which also include corners (clearly indicating a form of pressure on the opponent's defence), and how much of the 90-minute match duration each team has been leading, allows to also account for when teams have simply been busy controling the game, without needing to attack a lot.

Note: in the table above, to allow for averaging duration values based on a total of 90 minutes per game, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are all considered to be scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are also considered scored on the 90th minute.
In this example, Leeds United have been in the lead for an average duration of 20.9 minutes per match (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 18.3 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Non-crucial goals scored: goals scored that increased an existing lead, or decreased the opponent's existing lead.
Non-crucial goals conceded: goals conceded that decreased an existing lead, or increased the opponent's existing lead.
Note regarding the Goals giving the lead and the goals giving lead to opponent values: both the team and the opponent team might take the lead more than once during a single match,
so the total number of goals giving the lead to a team might be higher than the number of matches played by the team.
Lead-defending ability Leeds United have taken the lead 20 times and have conceded an equalizer on 9 instances, translating into a lead-defending rate of 55% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 45%).
Equalizing ability Of the 25 times that Leeds Utd's opponents have taken the lead, Leeds Utd have managed to score an equalizer on 12 instances, translating into an equalizing rate of 48%.
In this example, Leeds Utd have been in the lead for an average duration of 27.7 minutes per match played at home (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 12.4 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (at home) In home matches, Leeds Utd have taken the lead 12 times and have conceded an equalizer on 3 occasions, translating into a home lead-defending rate of 75% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 25%).
Equalizing ability (at home) Of the 9 times that Leeds Utd's opponents have taken the lead when Leeds Utd were playing at home, Leeds Utd have managed to score an equalizer on 4 occasions, translating into a home equalizing rate of 44%.
In this example, Leeds Utd have been in the lead for an average duration of 14.1 minutes per match played away (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 24.2 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (away) In away matches, Leeds Utd have taken the lead 8 times and have conceded an equalizer on 6 occasions, translating into an away lead-defending rate of 25% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 75%).
Equalizing ability (away) Of the 16 times that Leeds Utd's opponents have taken the lead when Leeds Utd were playing away, Leeds Utd have managed to score an equalizer on 8 occasions, translating into an away equalizing rate of 50%.
