Tottenham's quest for an elusive home victory continues after a dramatic evening in North London ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Leeds United.
Ahead of kick-off, the North Londoners were desperate to translate their recent away success into three points at their own stadium to finally pull away from the mounting pressure of the relegation zone.
Leeds United arrived looking to extend an impressive unbeaten run on their travels.
After a scoreless first half, the game finally exploded into life five minutes into the second period. Following a corner from the right taken by Pedro Porro, the ball was cleared at the near post only to fall for Mathys Tel on the edge of the area; he blocked the ball under his foot before unleashing a precise curled right-footed shot into the opposite corner (1-0).
The lead lasted until the 74th minute when Ethan Ampadu was fouled inside the box, prompting the referee to point to the spot. Dominic Calvert-Lewin stepped up and buried the resulting penalty with a powerful mid-height strike into the left corner to restore parity (1-1).
Spurs threw everything forward in the final stages, but Leeds remained dangerous on the counter, nearly snatching a winner if not for goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky producing a sensational save to tip a close-range blast onto the crossbar in the dying moments.
Tottenham extend their overall unbeaten run to four matches, but the persistent failure to win in front of their own fans remains a critical concern for their survival hopes. They have now failed to win in ten consecutive home gamesin the league, a dismal run that keeps them just two points clear of West Ham in the battle for safety.
With 31 goals conceded at their own stadium this season, only Wolverhampton possess a leakier home defence. Coming next for Spurs is a short but daunting trip to London rivals Chelsea.
Leeds United meanwhile celebrated their seventh consecutive away match without defeat, confirming their status as one of the division's most improved defensive units.
They have conceded only six goals across their last eight fixtures, a statistical feat bettered only by league leaders Arsenal. This hard-fought point maintains their position in 14th place and keeps their positive momentum alive as they return to Yorkshire to prepare for Brighton.

Domination Index calculation method
⌄
The Domination Index calculation is based on the average of the following percentages:
- Possession percentage - Percentage of match corners awarded to each team - Percentage of time each team has been in the lead
The calculation used is: AVERAGE OF (% Possession x 4, % Corners and % Lead duration x 2)
'Domination' in football can be perceived in different ways. The goal of the Domination Index, as calculated here, is not about trying to determine things like 'who should have won' or which team has been simply attacking the most.
Sometimes a team has easily scored once or twice in the beginning of the game and then opts for a more reactive stance, with a focus on hindering the opponent's game. At the end of the match, the opponent might have had more possession, and even more shots, but that does not necessarily mean they have dominated the other team.
Considering possession as only one of the factors, which also include corners (clearly indicating a form of pressure on the opponent's defence), and how much of the 90-minute match duration each team has been leading, allows to also account for when teams have simply been busy controling the game, without needing to attack a lot.

The 'League average' indicator refers to the average value for all teams in the league since the beginning of the season.
Note: in the table above, to allow for averaging duration values based on a total of 90 minutes per game, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are all considered to be scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are also considered scored on the 90th minute.
In this example, Tottenham have been in the lead for an average duration of 18.3 minutes per match (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 31.9 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Non-crucial goals scored: goals scored that increased an existing lead, or decreased the opponent's existing lead.
Non-crucial goals conceded: goals conceded that decreased an existing lead, or increased the opponent's existing lead.
Note regarding the Goals giving the lead and the goals giving lead to opponent values: both the team and the opponent team might take the lead more than once during a single match,
so the total number of goals giving the lead to a team might be higher than the number of matches played by the team.
Lead-defending ability Tottenham have taken the lead 20 times and have conceded an equalizer on 10 instances, translating into a lead-defending rate of 50% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 50%).
Equalizing ability Of the 29 times that Tottenham's opponents have taken the lead, Tottenham have managed to score an equalizer on 12 instances, translating into an equalizing rate of 41%.
In this example, Tottenham have been in the lead for an average duration of 17.0 minutes per match played at home (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 34.0 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (at home) In home matches, Tottenham have taken the lead 10 times and have conceded an equalizer on 7 occasions, translating into a home lead-defending rate of 30% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 70%).
Equalizing ability (at home) Of the 16 times that Tottenham's opponents have taken the lead when Tottenham were playing at home, Tottenham have managed to score an equalizer on 6 occasions, translating into a home equalizing rate of 38%.
In this example, Tottenham have been in the lead for an average duration of 19.5 minutes per match played away (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 29.7 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (away) In away matches, Tottenham have taken the lead 10 times and have conceded an equalizer on 3 occasions, translating into an away lead-defending rate of 70% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 30%).
Equalizing ability (away) Of the 13 times that Tottenham's opponents have taken the lead when Tottenham were playing away, Tottenham have managed to score an equalizer on 6 occasions, translating into an away equalizing rate of 46%.
Tottenham stats rank the team in 17th position in the Premier League table with 41 points, 3 points behind Nottm Forest and 2 points above West Ham Utd.
