Bournemouth turned the script upside down at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, snatching a dramatic 2-1 victory that snapped Evertons five-match unbeaten streak and left the home crowd in stunned silence.
Before the first whistle, Everton were riding a wave of confidence, hoping to extend their unbeaten run and finally secure a home win to climb toward the European places.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, arrived as one of the league's most resilient units, looking to preserve their own ten-match unbeaten streak while leapfrogging the Toffees in the table.
The atmosphere was electric as Everton took the lead just before the break. In the 42nd minute, after a foul on Branthwaite in the box, Iliman Ndiaye stepped up and coolly slotted his penalty into the bottom left corner (1-0).
However, the Cherries refused to wilt. The second half saw a spirited comeback initiated in the 61st minute when Adrien Truffert delivered a deep, lofted cross from the left that Rayan met with a clinical header from a tight angle (1-1).
The momentum shifted completely just three minutes later; a deep ball to the far post was headed across goal by James Hill, finding Amine Adli who nodded it home from point-blank range to complete the turnaround (1-2).
Everton's afternoon went from bad to worse in the 69th minute when Jake O'Brien saw red for a professional foul on Adli, leaving the hosts a man down and unable to find an equaliser despite increasing the pressure on the Bournemouth defence until the end of the match.
Everton will be kicking themselves after losing for the first time this season when scoring first, a result that leaves them stuck in 8th place and frustrated by a fifth consecutive home game without a win.
Their inability to keep a clean sheet at home now 9 out of 13 matches continues to be a thorn in their side, and they must find defensive stability before facing Manchester United next.
Bournemouth celebrate a massive result that sees them extend their unbeaten run to six matches and move level on points with Everton in 9th.
This victory highlights their status as the league's form side, having now scored in 11 consecutive matches, and they will head into their clash with West Ham full of belief that their clinical away form can carry them even higher.
2nd consecutive away win for Bournemouth. 8th consecutive game where Everton scored. 4th consecutive home game where Everton scored. 2nd consecutive game where Bournemouth conceded. 11th consecutive game where Bournemouth scored. 7th consecutive away game where Bournemouth scored. 4th consecutive game where Everton conceded. 5th consecutive home game where Everton conceded.
To calculate the above duration values based on a total of 90 minutes, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are considered scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are considered scored on the 90th minute.

Domination Index calculation method
⌄
The Domination Index calculation is based on the average of the following percentages:
- Possession percentage - Percentage of match corners awarded to each team - Percentage of time each team has been in the lead
The calculation used is: AVERAGE OF (% Possession x 4, % Corners and % Lead duration x 2)
'Domination' in football can be perceived in different ways. The goal of the Domination Index, as calculated here, is not about trying to determine things like 'who should have won' or which team has been simply attacking the most.
Sometimes a team has easily scored once or twice in the beginning of the game and then opts for a more reactive stance, with a focus on hindering the opponent's game. At the end of the match, the opponent might have had more possession, and even more shots, but that does not necessarily mean they have dominated the other team.
Considering possession as only one of the factors, which also include corners (clearly indicating a form of pressure on the opponent's defence), and how much of the 90-minute match duration each team has been leading, allows to also account for when teams have simply been busy controling the game, without needing to attack a lot.

The 'League average' indicator refers to the average value for all teams in the league since the beginning of the season.
Note: in the table above, to allow for averaging duration values based on a total of 90 minutes per game, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are all considered to be scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are also considered scored on the 90th minute.
In this example, Everton have been in the lead for an average duration of 23.9 minutes per match (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 24.8 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Non-crucial goals scored: goals scored that increased an existing lead, or decreased the opponent's existing lead.
Non-crucial goals conceded: goals conceded that decreased an existing lead, or increased the opponent's existing lead.
Note regarding the Goals giving the lead and the goals giving lead to opponent values: both the team and the opponent team might take the lead more than once during a single match,
so the total number of goals giving the lead to a team might be higher than the number of matches played by the team.
Lead-defending ability Everton have taken the lead 18 times and have conceded an equalizer on 7 instances, translating into a lead-defending rate of 61% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 39%).
Equalizing ability Of the 14 times that Everton's opponents have taken the lead, Everton have managed to score an equalizer on 4 instances, translating into an equalizing rate of 29%.
In this example, Everton have been in the lead for an average duration of 22.7 minutes per match played at home (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 31.0 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (at home) In home matches, Everton have taken the lead 7 times and have conceded an equalizer on 3 occasions, translating into a home lead-defending rate of 57% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 43%).
Equalizing ability (at home) Of the 8 times that Everton's opponents have taken the lead when Everton were playing at home, Everton have managed to score an equalizer on 2 occasions, translating into a home equalizing rate of 25%.
In this example, Everton have been in the lead for an average duration of 25.1 minutes per match played away (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 18.6 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (away) In away matches, Everton have taken the lead 11 times and have conceded an equalizer on 4 occasions, translating into an away lead-defending rate of 64% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 36%).
Equalizing ability (away) Of the 6 times that Everton's opponents have taken the lead when Everton were playing away, Everton have managed to score an equalizer on 2 occasions, translating into an away equalizing rate of 33%.

In this example, AFC Bournemouth have been in the lead for an average duration of 25.5 minutes per match (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 20.9 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability AFC Bournemouth have taken the lead 21 times and have conceded an equalizer on 12 instances, translating into a lead-defending rate of 43% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 57%).
Equalizing ability Of the 20 times that Bournemouth's opponents have taken the lead, Bournemouth have managed to score an equalizer on 13 instances, translating into an equalizing rate of 65%.
In this example, Bournemouth have been in the lead for an average duration of 24.4 minutes per match played at home (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 15.8 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (at home) In home matches, Bournemouth have taken the lead 11 times and have conceded an equalizer on 5 occasions, translating into a home lead-defending rate of 55% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 45%).
Equalizing ability (at home) Of the 7 times that Bournemouth's opponents have taken the lead when Bournemouth were playing at home, Bournemouth have managed to score an equalizer on 5 occasions, translating into a home equalizing rate of 71%.
In this example, Bournemouth have been in the lead for an average duration of 26.6 minutes per match played away (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 26.0 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (away) In away matches, Bournemouth have taken the lead 10 times and have conceded an equalizer on 7 occasions, translating into an away lead-defending rate of 30% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 70%).
Equalizing ability (away) Of the 13 times that Bournemouth's opponents have taken the lead when Bournemouth were playing away, Bournemouth have managed to score an equalizer on 8 occasions, translating into an away equalizing rate of 62%.
