Liverpool are back in the groove at Anfield, dispatching Fulham 2-0 to reignite their pursuit of the top spots after a frustrating three-match winless run.
Ahead of kick-off, Arne Slots men were desperate to shake off the hangover of a mid-week Champions League defeat and keep pace with the league's frontrunners.
For Fulham, the trip to Merseyside was a test of their away resolve, hoping to exploit a Liverpool defence that had looked uncharacteristically porous at home lately.
The breakthrough arrived in the 36th minute when Florian Wirtz threaded a ball from midfield to Rio Ngumoha on the left flank. The youngster ghosted into the box and curled a precise right-footed effort into the opposite corner, a fitting reward for a side that has now scored in 11 consecutive matches (1-0).
Just four minutes later, the lead was doubled. Ngumoha turned provider, swinging in a cross that Cody Gakpo controlled before teeing up Mohamed Salah on the right side of the area. Salah made no mistake, drilling a left-footed strike into the far corner to put the Reds firmly in control before the break (2-0).
Liverpools ability to find the net consistently was on full display, extending their scoring streak while Fulham, despite some pre-match resilience, struggled to puncture the home sides backline.
This victory snaps a three-match winless streak and solidifies Liverpools 5th-place standing with 52 points, keeping them within touching distance of the top four.
They successfully navigated the challenge despite previously failing to keep a clean sheet in 11 of their 16 home matches this season. They will travel the short distance to Everton next for the Merseyside Derby, looking to build on this momentum and continue their clinical form in front of goal.
For Fulham, the defeat ends a two-match unbeaten run and marks their second consecutive away trip without a goal. The Cottagers remain 11th in the table on 44 points, but their failure to keep a clean sheet in 14 of their 16 away matches remains a glaring Achilles' heel.
Marco Silva's side must now regroup for another away challenge at Brentford, focusing on tightening a defence that has struggled significantly on their travels.
11th consecutive game where Liverpool scored. 6th consecutive home game where Liverpool scored. 2nd consecutive game where Fulham conceded. 2nd consecutive away game with no goal scored for Fulham.
To calculate the above duration values based on a total of 90 minutes, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are considered scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are considered scored on the 90th minute.

Domination Index calculation method
⌄
The Domination Index calculation is based on the average of the following percentages:
- Possession percentage - Percentage of match corners awarded to each team - Percentage of time each team has been in the lead
The calculation used is: AVERAGE OF (% Possession x 4, % Corners and % Lead duration x 2)
'Domination' in football can be perceived in different ways. The goal of the Domination Index, as calculated here, is not about trying to determine things like 'who should have won' or which team has been simply attacking the most.
Sometimes a team has easily scored once or twice in the beginning of the game and then opts for a more reactive stance, with a focus on hindering the opponent's game. At the end of the match, the opponent might have had more possession, and even more shots, but that does not necessarily mean they have dominated the other team.
Considering possession as only one of the factors, which also include corners (clearly indicating a form of pressure on the opponent's defence), and how much of the 90-minute match duration each team has been leading, allows to also account for when teams have simply been busy controling the game, without needing to attack a lot.

The 'League average' indicator refers to the average value for all teams in the league since the beginning of the season.
Note: in the table above, to allow for averaging duration values based on a total of 90 minutes per game, goals scored on the 45th minute and during added time of the first half are all considered to be scored on the 45th minute, and goals scored on the 90th minute and during added time of the second half are also considered scored on the 90th minute.
In this example, Liverpool have been in the lead for an average duration of 24.5 minutes per match (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 18.1 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Non-crucial goals scored: goals scored that increased an existing lead, or decreased the opponent's existing lead.
Non-crucial goals conceded: goals conceded that decreased an existing lead, or increased the opponent's existing lead.
Note regarding the Goals giving the lead and the goals giving lead to opponent values: both the team and the opponent team might take the lead more than once during a single match,
so the total number of goals giving the lead to a team might be higher than the number of matches played by the team.
Lead-defending ability Liverpool have taken the lead 23 times and have conceded an equalizer on 8 instances, translating into a lead-defending rate of 65% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 35%).
Equalizing ability Of the 19 times that Liverpool's opponents have taken the lead, Liverpool have managed to score an equalizer on 9 instances, translating into an equalizing rate of 47%.
In this example, Liverpool have been in the lead for an average duration of 37.6 minutes per match played at home (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 9.9 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (at home) In home matches, Liverpool have taken the lead 13 times and have conceded an equalizer on 4 occasions, translating into a home lead-defending rate of 69% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 31%).
Equalizing ability (at home) Of the 6 times that Liverpool's opponents have taken the lead when Liverpool were playing at home, Liverpool have managed to score an equalizer on 3 occasions, translating into a home equalizing rate of 50%.
In this example, Liverpool have been in the lead for an average duration of 11.4 minutes per match played away (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 26.4 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (away) In away matches, Liverpool have taken the lead 10 times and have conceded an equalizer on 4 occasions, translating into an away lead-defending rate of 60% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 40%).
Equalizing ability (away) Of the 13 times that Liverpool's opponents have taken the lead when Liverpool were playing away, Liverpool have managed to score an equalizer on 6 occasions, translating into an away equalizing rate of 46%.

In this example, Fulham have been in the lead for an average duration of 20.2 minutes per match (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 21.4 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability Fulham have taken the lead 19 times and have conceded an equalizer on 6 instances, translating into a lead-defending rate of 68% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 32%).
Equalizing ability Of the 24 times that Fulham's opponents have taken the lead, Fulham have managed to score an equalizer on 10 instances, translating into an equalizing rate of 42%.
In this example, Fulham have been in the lead for an average duration of 25.3 minutes per match played at home (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is longer than the average duration of 15.1 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (at home) In home matches, Fulham have taken the lead 12 times and have conceded an equalizer on 3 occasions, translating into a home lead-defending rate of 75% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 25%).
Equalizing ability (at home) Of the 11 times that Fulham's opponents have taken the lead when Fulham were playing at home, Fulham have managed to score an equalizer on 6 occasions, translating into a home equalizing rate of 55%.
In this example, Fulham have been in the lead for an average duration of 15.0 minutes per match played away (based on a 90-minute match duration), which is lower than the average duration of 27.6 minutes per match during which their opponents were in the lead in those matches.
Lead-defending ability (away) In away matches, Fulham have taken the lead 7 times and have conceded an equalizer on 3 occasions, translating into an away lead-defending rate of 57% (for an opponents' equalizing rate of 43%).
Equalizing ability (away) Of the 13 times that Fulham's opponents have taken the lead when Fulham were playing away, Fulham have managed to score an equalizer on 4 occasions, translating into an away equalizing rate of 31%.
Fulham stats rank the team in 12th position in the Premier League table with 44 points, 1 point behind Bournemouth.
